Elgin School Board Rehires Principal for New Year

The Elgin school board met Saturday night and re-employed J. H. Wilshite as principal for the coming school year. Two other positions remained unfilled. Miss Mae Carter, the primary teacher, has been offered a job near her Sterling home at $70 per month and is likely to accept.

Roosevelt Coming Speeches Rally for Progressive Ticket

John P. Hickman announced Mr. Roosevelt will deliver ten speeches in Oklahoma to support the progressive state ticket. He named Albert Beveridge Victor Murdock Henry J. Allen and Governor Johnson of California as speakers who will visit to promote the same cause.

Closing Day Exercises At Elgin School Auditorium

Largest crowd in the Elgin school auditorium filled every space Friday night with standing room on the stairs. Country and nearby towns sent many attendees as the program featured recitations drills songs and musical numbers lasting over two hours.
