Lawton dog owners face fees for reclaiming dogs with a second violation leading to a fatal result. A Lawton raid found five quarts of whiskey and two men posted $700 bonds for trial next Monday. An auto sank in quicksand northwest of Lawton, recovered after two hours. Red Mayes was arrested for speeding in a racer. Dead fish drift on the ces near Lawton prompt orders to remove them before decay spoils water. Two soldiers and two civilians fined seven dollars each for intoxication in Lawton.

Annual School Meeting Approves Director and Eight Month Term

The meeting drew about half the usual attendance. Enrollment shows 62 males and 67 females. Tuition from outside pupils totals 61 dollars to date. district cash on hand is 273.70 dollars. W. F. Wolcott nominated and elected director for three years. Board authorized to reject unsatisfactory sheds. Eight months of school to begin first Monday in October.

A baptizing event is planned near Elgin at Cache Creek next Sunday afternoon May 10 around 3 30 conducted by Rev. D L Hinckley. The group will leave Elgin at 2 o'clock and those wishing to be baptized will be led to the church for the evening service.
