Harold Putney returned to school Monday after sore eyes but quit again Tuesday. The team lost to Lawton High 41 to 0. Players listed include Hagle ating Cline and two Kitsmiler. James Hagle out with sore eyes. Principal Willhite absent Monday for cousin Pearl Metts funeral. HP Wettengel appointed as substitute, Claud Wiggins absent clerking. Snowball fight during recess involved Wettengel and many younger students. Wendell Wettengel absent with neuralgia.
A cold snap gave way to a clear day as residents recount the equinoctial storm and recent snows. Local notes include Abby Williams recovering, Miss Decker resuming school, and several visits among families such as the Sperlings and McCraws. Charles Sperling’s family visited L. P. McCraw, and Miss Pearl Metts died after a two week illness. A new baby arrived to Mr. and Mrs. Morris, while Misses Montgom ery, Richardson, and Sheetz were ill with grippe. Reverend Brown preached at the schoolhouse amid cold weather, and James Dotson remained bedbound with pleurisy.
In Temple hall on Friday evening Happy Hollow beat Pumpkin Ridge 11 to 6. Happy Hollow players were Hasenbeck Schoenebooth H Sellars C Sellars Cremer. Pumpkin Ridge players were G Harney C Harrel P Harrel Whaley Price.
Mrs Stella Hansen held the lucky number 326 in a drawing at Rucker's store last Wednesday evening. The number drew the rug that was given away.
Dr. J Gamble owns a new Ford car after selling his old vehicle to J H Hansen. The deal transfers ownership from Dr. Gamble to Hansen as the transaction is completed.
