Mrs. G. W. Gilbert of Yreka was severely burned when her calico dress caught fire. She remained conscious but in shock, screaming loudly as onlookers heard her plea for help. The event sparked concern that her husband’s departure had driven her to emotional distress.

Mrs Artie King wife of Lan ce C King burned to death at home on the Chus lay farm between Elgin and Jahet Tuesday night into Wednesday morning after a fire sparked by an illness flight. She died about 1 16 o clock this morning despite medical aid and later events as the family prepared for a night train to Tex 4 via Lawton. Interment was set for the cemetery with Artie Holland listed among relatives. She was born July 15 1892 and married Cedna King August 22 1909. The family and visitors from Nocoma attended the funeral plans by phone.
