A Duluth Minnesota cyclone swept the harbor yesterday injuring no fatalities. The sudden storm within ten minutes disrupted the crowded harbor with pleasure craft and overturned a small front sail boat. One of six crew members from Frank Farrell’s sailboat was missing but ashore reports indicated the boat drifted to shore.
Washington reports the army airship board found Capt Baldwin's dirigible met all conditions for payment. He will receive 5787.50 dollars, which is 18 percent less than the amount due if a maximum speed of twenty miles had been reached.
Sioux Falls August 17 Judge Carland of the United States court today sentenced George D Harras former cashier of the Hot Springs National Bank to five years in the Leavenworth Kansas federal penitentiary for embezzling twenty five thousand dollars and for engaging in illegal reports.
Terre Haute Aug 1 with two days action by the mining fields of the state none will give notice until after 1 o'clock the fate of the strike to the entire immediate coal field will be finally determined. A Ringling Bros circus train section wrecked at Porthells on the Great Northern line thirty miles north of Bellingham. Six attendants reported injured, physicians departed for the scene last night and had not returned by morning.

Arch bishop Farley may be named the next American cardinal as the Pope plans to appoint him soon. Pope Leo XIII has asked Arch bishop Gibbons to return to Rome before traveling to America for a potential communication. Farley, 56, born in Ireland, educated in the United States England and Rome, and long a trusted aide to Pope Leo XIII, rose from auxiliary bishop of New York to archbishop.
In Grand Forks a manhunt grows for Mrs Mabel Hurds wife of B Hurd who disappeared with their 14 month old child and an 18 year old companion after leaving Thursday night August 18. The report also covers Frank Smith a sheep shearer jailed on horse stealing charges after hiring a buggy at O K livery and being traced to Medora. London health officials warn bathing brushes spread dangerous microbes including the micrococcus bacillus and other deadly germs.
Grand Forks North Dakota August 17 a nude male body was recovered from the Red River by the Grand Forks steamer crew near Manvel about ten feet from shore. Officials were notified. No identification or investigation yet. The missing man Bennie Brovie is the only name mentioned in the section. It is believed to be a farm hand or transient who swam and drowned.
A probate court hearing opened this afternoon before Judge Hanson on the report of sale of the late William Houston estate. Frank E. Shaw appeared with attorney W H Wright as special guardian for young David H Houston to challenge the sale, claiming it should be set aside. The estate near Hunter was sold by Mrs Houston, the sole heir.
Traverse City Michigan August 17 the steamer Leland blew its boilers sending passengers into Carp Lake. Three killed two fatally injured and many missing or seriously hurt include Mrs Isabel Labonta aged 44 wife of a captain and two unidentified persons. Among the missing Mr and Mrs August Getzer.
Butte Montana August 17 James Bones aged 101 the oldest man in Montana was found dead at his home near Virginia City He was a famed Montana pioneer and teamster in General Johnston s 1887 expedition to Utah.
In Pittsburgh on August 17 John Robselk’s family endured a carriage overturn when a frightened horse ran away. A stork delivered a baby boy to Robselk’s wife during the mishap, with all involved left unharmed and returned home.
