Band Concerts Ended Amid Public Regret

The community learned last Tuesday night’s band concert was the season’s final performance. Prof. Hraraick will join the Hiawatha Band at Ft. Riley for about two weeks, and resuming concerts may be delayed upon his return. The city applauds the band leader and members for the season’s many pleasant evenings.

Prompt Settlement Acknowledged by Fraternal Order

Mrs Isabell McPherson received a 51000 check in lieu of a policy held by her late husband William McPherson who was listed with the Knights and Ladies of Security. He died on the 12th and an agent soon confirmed and adjusted the claim leading to the timely payment this week. The fraternal orders are praised for prompt settlement.

City Council clears path for park bond sale

Last Monday night the council, after a stormy session, approved selling park bonds to W A Greenwald at par to fund better water and light services. The meeting adjourned with plans to reconvene on Monday September.
