Kas Meyers and his wife left Tuesday for a new home in Los Angeles California after many years in Falls City. The couple are well known in the area and many acquaintances regret the move while sending best wishes for their future success.
Sunday after noon at 3 o clock the Elk's lodge holds annual Memorial services in the city. Principal speaker will be Judge William Hayward of Nebraska City, son of ex senator M L Wayward, noted as an able young man. Musical features promised of high quality.
The article notes Advent begins next Sunday as a penitential season. The four Sundays emphasize Death Judgment Hell and Heaven. Rev. G L Neide will preach a sermon on Death at St Thomas Church next Sunday night.

The Third Nebraska claims for militia service during the Spanish American War were approved for pay from enrollment to muster into the national army. Many claims have been paid. Gov. Sheldon holds a large unpaid balance for enlisted men whose addresses are unknown. Paris City boys Jim Pickett and Will Hershey served in the regiment and are praised by friends for their service.
The initial issue of The Orange and the Black was published Monday as a monthly school year booklet for Falls City schools. Virgil Falloon serves as editor in chief with Helen Davies as associate editor. Each school class and department is represented by capable editors. The project has strong citizen support and promises to endure.
Dubinsky Brothers present the musical comedy Pickings From Puck at Gehling's Opera House on Monday night December 2. Fresh from New York, the show features music wit and merriment with ingenues and twelve lilies of young womanhood. Fifteen original songs are highlighted by elaborate scenery and costume changes.

LeRoy Turner of Salem tried to end his life Saturday evening over unrequited affection. After a confrontation with the woman and her companion outside a church he fired twice, the second shot wounding him near the heart. He was treated at home and attended church the next day.
