Orange Kidder Dies At Home At 74 In City
Orange Kidder died at his home in this city on Thursday November 14 1907 aged 74 6 10 born near Rochester New York April 25 1833 he lived in Nebraska from 1881 settling near this city then moving here where he remained. He was a longtime Christian church member and veteran of the Civil War serving 1861 to 1865 and belonged to the local G A R which attended his funeral. He leaves a wife and many friends and had suffered a long illness with cataracts of the stomach but died peacefully.

The November 19 box social at Gatz school drew a large crowd. Students presented The White Shawl with Mary Gatz and Ella Kissegger as sisters and George Apel, Walter Waechter as fiancés. A plantation medley by seventh graders delighted attendees. twenty five boxes sold. a pumpkin pie won by Chas Brecht. $35 raised to join the Traveling Library, benefiting Miss Crotty and the school board’s improvements.

Library Receives 49-Volume Gift From Dr Morsman
The library gratefully accepts forty nine volumes from Dr Mors man, a valuable addition to the collection. Books will be kept together for a time then classified and placed on shelves for general use. A bulletin board displays postcards of public libraries to illustrate building appearances.
