Shredder accident leaves Edward Smith armless and in peril

Edward Smith nineteen of this city suffered a horrific shredding accident while tending the machine. His left hand was torn away and his right hand injured as he threw himself down to escape the knives. Surgeons amputated above the elbow and below it. He was brought home for care and is expected to survive. Also noted is a fortieth first wedding anniversary celebration for Mr and Mrs Cade with a surprise ceremony. A call for famine relief in China follows, urging public donations via local banks to aid millions starving.

Hill on Feb 27 despite bad weather and discussed Longfellow readings reviews of his life and related word studies.

Miss Emma Werner married Frank Yoesel at 2 PM Thursday in the Werner home before more than fifty guests. Rev Manshardt conducted the ceremony and a formal dinner followed. The bride is noted as a pleasant Falls City young woman and the groom as a capable, honorable man.
