Smithing accident leaves Samuel Prater injured
While working in his smithing shop last Saturday, Samuel Prater was struck by a piece of steel that pierced his thumb. The metal had to be surgically removed after the thumb was split open. R Travers of Hiawatha, Kansas was in town earlier in the week attending to business.

Elizabeth Bertram hosts friends with elegant refreshments on Friday evening. The Woman's club art department met with Miss Weichers discussing Bach and related works. Soldier Geo B Hendricks Dies at Leavenworth Home
Geo B Hendricks died February 19 1906 at age 70 years 5 months 9 days in the National Home at Leavenworth Kansas. He served in Civil War with Company ?, First Colorado, and received military burial in the National cemetery. District Court Action Nears Trial in Miles Case
Judge Kelligar held a short term of court Saturday afternoon. Motions for new trials in Heineman v Wahl and The Gaiser Manufacturing Co v King were argued and overruled. Matt Schulenberg appealed to the Supreme Court. An attempt to set the Miles will case for trial soon failed due to opposing counsel. trial now expected in June.

Valentine arrives as 74 pound boy to Crocker home
A 74 pound boy arrived last Wednesday at the home of Mr and Mrs George Crocker. Mr Crocker was away and had to drive twenty miles to catch a train then ride fifty miles by rail via Cameron and St Joseph to Pull City arriving at 2 o clock Thursday morning. The boy resembles his father and all is well.
