Miss Stumbo hosted friends at home on South McLane Street. Fred Cleveland staged a farewell dance at Bode hall before leaving for Nebraska City. Mrs Will Holt entertained the Married Ladies Kensington Thursday afternoon. Josie Gilroy hosted a Valentine party for about eighteen guests. The Shakespear Club met at Mrs Robert Rule's home after stormy weather. Miss Emma and Miss Rose Schiable hosted the M E Kensington with music by Mrs Frank Schiable. Mrs Chas Hargrave's Thursday luncheon drew about thirty friends. A whist tournament was held by Mr and Mrs D D Reavis with Mr and Mrs Albert Maust as top players. Elizabeth Miller hosted a Presbyterian C F Valentine gathering with a formal luncheon. Mrs Charlie Banks and Miss Hanks announced a third musical evening for Feb 19. Episcopal St Martha's Guild hosted a masquerade at F W Cleveland's home with red and white decor and a royal heart theme. The Queen of Hearts, Edna Horacks, distributed valentines as souvenirs. The St Martha’s Guild Valentine social featured a Handel program and songs, with a notable large crowd. The Art department of the Woman's Club met, featuring Handel works and readings.
