Death of Richardson County pioneer Lorenzo D. Lawrence
Lorenzo Dow Lawrence died April 14 after a long illness. Born July 5, 1827 in West Day New York, he moved to Richardson County in 1872 with his wife Jane Ann Clancy and raised eight children. Funeral services were held April 16 at the Christian Church with burial in Steele Cemetery. He leaves wife Jane Ann and children Emma, Pearl, Edward, and Fred Lawrence, plus relatives in Illinois and Kansas. An infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Fisher died Tuesday at Falls City and was interred in Steele Cemetery.
