Nora B Dysert Avery died at her home four miles north of the city on October 1 1899 after a long illness. She was 22 years 10 months and 12 days old, daughter of Samuel and Amanda Dysert, married to Robert F Avery, mother of one daughter. Funeral held at the Christian church with tributes to her devout Christian life. Burial in the city cemetery.

Close of Court Adjourns After Light September Term
The September term ended with adjournment Saturday at 12:40 PM after three weeks of sparse work. Only two jury trials occurred with verdicts for the defendants in Vance Palm vs Hisel and Edward Raye’s case for selling mortgaged property. The final sessions covered Dr. John G. Fleenor’s assignment, including a $3,000 loan from W A Carse and a $800 borrowing from A Pickard to settle with the school district. The court ordered the assignee to pay Carse $2,280.37 and about $48.50 to general creditors, with a new-trial motion denied and costs of unused witnesses allocated to the defendants.
