Prof Allan Bacon gives piano recital at Barhydt Chapel next Monday at 8 PM the first in a five recital series by Parson College Conservatory faculty. The program includes Mozart Fantasia in C minor Mendelssohn Scherzo a Capriccio Mendelssohn Prelude in B minor Mendelssohn Two Etudes Chopin Prelude in D flat and Scherzo in B flat minor.
Frank P. McGohan, 51 South Fifth Street, was seriously gored Wednesday by a bull at his farm three and a half miles northeast of the city. He was taken to the county hospital in serious condition and his prognosis is guarded following recent pneumonia.

Hannah acquires a Briggs street front building formerly a feed barn, expanding its garage space alongside Orpheum rooms.

Marsh Bunting sold his quarter section farm on the Lincoln highway near Glidden for 525 dollars an acre, said to be the highest price ever paid for an Iowa farm. The tract lies in the area once called the term creek marsh, a historic duck hunting paradise.
County landowners oppose Cedar Creek drainage project with claims totaling more than 500000 for damages. Bridges alone may require 300000, threatening funding plans. Board set October 20 for final decision as names and amounts of claimants are listed.
Jefferson county Civil War veterans gathered in the park for a reunion. About sixty veterans attended with twenty-five from out of town as spectators and speakers. James M. Gregg was elected president, W. J. Chester vice president, and John M. Loehr secretary and treasurer.
