Des Moines Iowa November 15 state board of control will inspect Mt Pleasant hospital after McFadden magazine charges. Former Mayor James Hourihan accuses Superintendent Applegate of fining employees for rule infractions and deducting fines from pay without hearing. E Herbert Smith a student at Iowa State Normal was found dead in a bath tub after he slipped and touched an electric light bulb causing a short circuit. He roomed with Prof George S Dick on Normal hill and died instantly with medical help arriving too late. His parents live on a farm near Tripoli Iowa.
