Immers and Thomas Grimes, convicted of the January murder of John Gavin, a Henry county farmer, are sentenced by Judge Withrow to life imprisonment. Gavin was attacked near New London after a hog sale and died from blows with a seven foot rail. Both men pleaded guilty, crowd heard the sentence, and they will be sent to prison that night.

H Norman aged 80 a Denison pioneer was killed while walking toward Denison along a railroad near Council Bluffs Iowa.
