Death of Qs General Counsel Blythe in hunting accident

Joseph William Blythe, general counsel to the Chicago Burlington and Quincy railroad, died near Oakville from angina pectoris after a hunting trip with H S Rand and H O Weaver. He was a leader in Iowa politics and a key executor in James J. Hill's estate, born 1850 in Madison Indiana.

Recount Shows Hepburn Gain in Eighth District Race

Des Moines March 4. Recount of ballots in Page Appanoose and Union counties in the Hepburn Jamieson contest for Congress in the Eighth district finished yesterday revealing a two vote gain for Hepburn. Jamieson held a 380 vote majority on official returns.
