Mt. Pleasant Iowa Jan 5 Harry Davis a well known baker disappeared four months ago. He is found with his parents in Jamestown New York claiming his mind is a blank and cannot recall leaving home or events since. He had sunstroke in the past. His wife remains in Mt Pleasant.
In Cincinnati on January 6 a crowd of men women and children swarmed a downtown street as 500 twenty dollar gold pieces spilled from an express messenger's bag. Police pushed back the mob but pieces remain missing and the bag’s contents are at risk.
Des Moines reports John Junkin, condemned for the murder of Clara Rosen, asked Governor Carroll for more exercise to preserve health, noting a sentence of hanging in July. The governor refused to intervene, stating the prison discipline would continue as is. Junkin has had limited outside access since his transfer after a Burlington mob incident.

Keokuk January 10 Judge Henry H Trimble dean of the Keokuk bar association and long cited Democrat died at 9 pm at his home after a short battle with pneumonia He had just returned from St Louis where he attended court Funeral services are private Tuesday at 2 30 pm from his residence and burial will follow in Oakland cemetery A native of Indiana he came to Bloomfield Iowa in 1850 and held offices including district attorney state senator and district judge He served in the Mexican and Civil wars and later practiced law for the Burlington Railroad company He was a prominent Democratic figure and a longtime friend of I D Jones of Keokuk.
Mrs Nora Bolander of Cedar Falls died after walking home from the Metropolitan opera house with friends during a frigid evening. She became ill at the theater, was assisted to the entrance, and died at home despite medical relief. The death was attributed to heart trouble likely triggered by the long cold walk.
Ransom of Hardin County unveils a new system claimed to work marvels as township roads undergo extensive dragging for a $200,000 expenditure.

James Cassidy of Cedar Rapids, member of a Hell telephone contraction gang, was shot and killed by night watchman Harry Lee in a Dysart hotel after a disturbance. Cassidy reportedly raised a chair toward Lee before the pistol action, dying four hours later. Cassidy’s wife and family were notified.
