Miss Myrtle Harkins of Ames sues W R Kirk a Nevada businessman for $10000 claiming he promised to wed during the summer while she served as house keeper. Kirk 65 and wealthy. his wife died last June. The case, filed Monday, draws local attention and will be heard at the next court term.
Bela Hinkle, former Rock Island yardmaster at Eldon, was found guilty in Chickasha, Oklahoma Territory, of larceny related to silk stolen from Rock Island cars. He had served sixteen months as Eldon yardmaster and previously worked as a division conductor in Oklahoma and Indian Territory. The arrest followed last August by Special Rock Island Agent R. O. McIntosh.

Sage of Alexandria bought Stockport goods for 4000 dollars. Real estate remains unsold. sale approvals came from Referee Robert of Keokuk.
Humboldt Iowa reports its dressing plant handling unprecedented demand with a daily car load of dressed poultry bound for eastern markets. Mrs. Sarah Foote of Moravia Iowa aged 80 stabbed herself in the throat multiple times with a penknife amid years of rheumatism and partial dementia. She died the same day after her daughter and son in law found the bleeding scene and a physician was summoned. Interment set for Drakeville.
