Well Known Man Dies After Rail Crossing Accident
Clay Breneman, a Fairfield railroad mechanic, was struck at the Fourth Street C B Q crossing when No 6 locomotive frame work fatally injured him. He died at home about two hours later. Breneman, born July 21 1854 in Lucas county Iowa, married Jennie Noble September 17 1876 at Chariton. He had lived in Fairfield twenty five years and was active in the Methodist church and I O O F lodge 629. Funeral arrangements pending relatives' arrival.

Leo Syfert of Parsons college S A T C died at noon Monday at Jefferson County hospital after weeks of illness from Spanish influenza and pneumonia. He was the son of Mr and Mrs T E Syfert of Birmingham.
Teeter Dies After Illness. Rites Held at Union Cemetery
Robert Teeter died Friday at his home near Glasgow after a long stomach cancer illness. Funeral services were held Monday and the body was interred in Union cemetery.

After a two week illness with influenza and pneumonia Mrs. John E. Johnson of 406 West Burlington Fairfield died Saturday at home. A well known Fairfield woman she was active in English Lutheran church and Rebekah lodge No. 386 and The Royal Neighbors. Surviving are her husband one son Cecil Johnson and three daughters Mrs. Levi Graber Davenport Mrs. Elmer Carlson.
