Jefferson county court house bonds attract local subscriptions

Methodist Jubilee continues in Fairfield jubilee celebration
The Fairfield Methodist jubilee marked continued services and programs through Sunday with a large turnout. Rev. D. C. Smith and Rev. S. Hestwood led sermons and talks on Methodist history, church work, and the influence of Methodism on Fairfield, ending with a celebratory sermon by Elder F. E. Waring and a widely attended jubilee service.

Death of Smith Ball at Mt. Zion Church
Smith Ball died at 7 45 P M Saturday December 11 at age 61 after liver chills. He retained cheerfulness to the end and was surrounded by most of his children. Funeral at Mt Zion Church twelve miles southeast of Fairfield led by Rev L C Stafford. Ball born July 20 1810 in Madison County Kentucky lived in Illinois and Iowa. Survived by wife Rebecca Moffett and several children including Mrs Witham Case Mrs G B Whaillips Mrs R Fisher L C Ball FF Ball and George W Ball.
