The Democratic majority in Texas this fall grew to about 500000 votes countywide with a total majority near 1000000, while the Republicans lament an off year defeat. Judge L G Kinne faced no opposition in the seventeenth district, with only 454 scattering votes. An Iowa campaign looked promising for continued Democratic strength.
