Last Rites for Judge Woolson Held at Mt. Pleasant
The funeral for Judge Woolson was held at the Methodist church with attendees from Des Moines Burlington Keokuk Fairfield and Fort Madison. The cortege included special train cars attorneys and federal officers. Dr C L Stafford led services with Rev O W Rogers and Rev W H Heppe assisting. Interment followed in Forest Home family lot.

The state of Iowa paid the C R J P Railway Co 31097 for transporting the 51st Iowa from San Francisco to Council Bluffs. Withheld 258 for two meals due to a Union Pacific delay. funds to cover this come from the Union Pacific sub contract with Rock Island. Additional advances covered bills to bring soldiers home including 7400 for other expenses. Meals totaled 3941.66 and Pullman charges 2550. The text questions funding future regiments if more are deployed.
