Anamosa $7,000 school rises on hilltop

In Anamosa a new school building valued at seven thousand dollars is under construction on a hilltop. Other Iowa items include arraiged J O Brock held for trial in Clinton on bigamy charges, with bail set at two thousand five hundred dollars.

Fires Hit Mills and Towns Across the Midwest in April

Weekly review notes Menasha mills at Menasha Wisconsin burned April 13 causing around 75000 in loss. Bristol Indiana suffered a destructive April 16 fire with over 40000 in damage and 13000 insured. A snowstorm hit Northern Illinois Wisconsin on April 14, with four inches of snow and cold. Thomas Lamon hanged in Laconia New Hampshire April 17 for murder in 1883. Tornadoes and fires disrupted several states, with other incidents including a large New York fire injuring firefighters, and strikes in Pennsylvania and Chicago.

Missouri coal operators to test weighing law impact
