Former resident here dies at home in Couer d Alene
Mrs. Ed S. Smith of Couer d Alene Idaho dies suddenly Monday afternoon. Sister of Mrs. A S McPherson, she was born in Blackhawk township and lived in Fairfield before moving west. Survived by husband Ed Smith and seven children in Idaho, plus father in Spokane and siblings in Spokane Juneau Alaska. Funeral in western hometown to allow state institutions to function.

A S McPherson Dies After Short Illness
Albert S. McPherson a Fairfield real estate man died after several weeks illness at Jefferson County Hospital. He fell from a hay load near Yeoville in December sustaining injuries believed to cause death. Born November 11 1859 in Richland Iowa he was married September 24 1902 to Effie Davies. He leaves a brother C D McPherson of Kansas City and three sisters Fatima Ireland J M Horn and Pleasant Hoskins. Funeral Saturday at 608 East Burlington with Dr C L Tenant of First Methodist presiding. Remains to Fairfield Abbey. He had lived in Fairfield twenty years and operated in business eighteen years.

Tribune Sold to Ledger Journal Ends Fairfield Newspaper
The Fairfield Tribune will cease publication after the Ledger Journal purchase. Subscribers will be credited on Ledger books and receive daily paper for that amount. The Tribune’s job printing will continue under Tribune Printing Co with expanded capacity and a new Service Department led by H N Brandall to aid advertisers and creators.

George R. Horn longtime Jefferson county resident died in Rochester Minnesota after a recent operation He was about 72 and had served as county auditor and Fairfield city council member He is survived by his brother J M Horn and two sisters Lydia Horn and Mrs John Elliott with his funeral in Fairfield at 301 East Briggs Street.

Patriotism fills Center No. 10 program and pie sale
Center No. 10 school led by Miss Helen Droz held a Friday patriotic program during a pie supper. T. S. Waters and Mrs. A. C. Man Captures Five Cubs Near Fairfield
George W. Black of Cedar township brought five cub wolves to the county auditor office after finding them on Peter Chapins farm nine miles southeast of Fairfield. The cubs were alive but growing large enough to snap. The mother was sighted and chased but not captured. efforts will be made to trap her later.

Flags for all county schools from Woman's Relief Corps
The Woman's Relief Corps presents United States and Iowa flags to Jefferson county schools. Wool hunting flags on 60 inch staffs go to rural and grade rooms, silk flags to high schools. Each room receives Iowa flag law and a copy of the American Creed. The project cost 3800 with 127.98 raised at tag day. Country Fair next week should complete the fund.

Ernest Goodall Dies at Edler Home Near City
Ernest R. Goodall died Sunday morning at the Edler home five miles southeast of the city after months of illness. The funeral was held Tuesday at the Libertyville Methodist Church with Rev. J. B. Pritchard in charge and burial in the cemetery. He was born June 17, 1879, in Webster City Iowa and lived in Jefferson County many years, returning with his stepfather before his death. His mother died several years earlier.

Mrs Ida Johnson Llewellyn died Saturday evening at her Hastings home following a serious winter operation. Known locally as sister to W. E.
