Martin law proclaimed nationwide while German and Hungarian troops seize Prague Pilsen Pisek and Tabor. Fighting reported in Brunn Olmutz Shoka with machine guns and artillery in streets. Population remains defiant as authorities clamp down.

Amsterdam dispatch says Roland Garros the noted French aviator who vanished on October 7 after a flight over German lines was shot down and killed on October 4 according to a Berlin message. Lieut Bo Garros is cited in the same report as another French aviator killed.
