Thursday October schedule lists Band Concerts by DeVelde and Zelda Equilibrists at Northwest Park corner 11:30 and 4:00, Flying Marriotts at Southeast corner 10:00 and 7:45, Old Settlers Parade, Picnic Dinner with free coffee, Ladies Band of Keota 1:00 and 7:30, Boxing and Wrestling at Northeast corner 2:00, Baseball at Alumni Field 2:30, Kangaroo Court Southwest Park 2:30, Old Fashioned Singing School 3:00, Concert by Keota Ladies' Band 3:30, Grand Outdoor Dance at park walks and square with Fairfield Iowa Band, special dance music, all invited with no age limit.
Katherine Tyler of Portland Oregon, graduate of Portland Art School and Chicago Art Institute, is installed as a high school teacher of mechanical drawing and normal art work for Training Girls. Bethune Smith oversees girls physical education and athletic activities. playgrounds supervised by teachers at grade and high schools. Fairfield schools planned a demonstration in physical training for the State Teachers meeting in Des Moines but canceled due to travel expense.
Notice states the court house will be closed for the afternoons of October 10 and 11 due to the Old Settlers celebration while still open in the forenoon as usual. Board of Supervisors issues the directive.
