Funeral for Mrs Harlan Gossick Held in Evergreen Cemetery
Mrs Harlan Gossick died last Tuesday in Texas after moving there with her husband in January. Her funeral was held today at the Fisher home with Rev W H Betts and Rev Thomas Osborn officiating. Six classmates carried the casket to Evergreen Cemetery. she is survived by her husband, her parents Mr and Mrs P H Fisher, five sisters Mae Edith Mary Irma Lena and one brother Ray.

Woman Injured When Steer Team Escapes Near Post Office
Mrs. Charles H. Gage suffered serious injuries after a fleeing black team struck her horse on West Broadway near the post office at noon. Bystanders including G B Baker and C A Emry freed her from between the horses as she lay unconscious with blood at the mouth and nose. Doctors later noted a missing thumb piece and possible internal injuries.

Ottumwa Man Returns as City Ticket Agent
Clarence Waller of Ottumwa is transferred to this city as ticket agent for the Burlington and assumed duties this morning. He previously served as operator here about two years ago. His wife will accompany him. Mr. Rogers, the current ticket agent, will take a week off before resuming night work.

Fire crews quell roof blaze at Mrs. A. McGregor home
Hose companies were called to Mrs. A. McGregor’s West Burlington street residence Saturday evening to extinguish a roof fire likely sparked by shingles from the flue. The blaze started in the shingles and broke out elsewhere on the roof but was stopped by bystanders. the roof suffered only light damage.
