Southeastern Iowa Horticultural Society Meets November 20–22

The thirty eighth annual meeting of the Southeastern Iowa Horticultural Society will convene at Library Hall in this city from November 20 to 22. Prominent regional figures will speak, with exhibitions of small fruits vegetables and flowers and premiums for top displays. Sessions begin with introductions and addresses by C. G. Blodgett and others, including John L. Wilson and Alex Miller.

Bridal Rites In Butte As Clara Hinkle Weds Earl Gilbert

Miss Clara Dell Hinkle and Earl Templeton Gilbert wed at the First Presbyterian church in Butte Montana with a simple ring ceremony. The bride wore a white batiste frock and carried white rosebuds. the bridal party included bridesmaids and a maid of honor. The couple’s families and relatives filled the front row as organist Jack Hangauer and violinist Clare O Donnell opened with Lohengrin march.

Armory Fund Boost Planned by White City Orchestra

Fairfield citizens urged to attend a Friday Nov 15 concert at the Grand Opera House by the White City Orchestra of Chicago to raise funds for Company M armory. Charles Todd leads the program as the orchestra’s director noted for his violin prowess. Proceeds aim to build a first class armory home for the local militia unit.

Local wedding and reception at Hinkle home on West Broadway

The wedding reception followed at the Hinkle residence on West Broadway honoring two main events. Invitations extended to church guests and the young ladies serving as flower girls included Lula Prentice Sadie Jonas Maude Nissler Nellie Hamlin Joste Jonas Lydia Osenbrug Ella Wright Mozetta Williams Lillian Plomley Hazel Corrie and Ruth Franzman. Mrs. Hinkle wore white batiste with Cluny lace while Mrs. Gilbert appeared in a dove gray wolle gown trimmed with white plumes and violet flowers.

Sunday Arrives in Muscatine for Big Revival

Evangelist William A. Sunday and his party reached Muscatine on the Firefly amid greetings from ministers and a large local committee. The opening service at 10:30 a.m. drew over 10,000 attendees, with thousands turned away as preparations and expectations for the revival built in the Muscatine Tabernacle.

Death of Mrs Myrtle Mack in Cheyenne Wyoming

Telegram reports Mrs Myrtle Mack wife of Julian Mack of Cheyenne Wyoming died Saturday morning at ten o clock. A resident of this city in her youth she was daughter of J C Fulton and leaves a husband two children six brothers and three sisters. Funeral in Cheyenne. Father and relatives here mourn the loss.

Surprise Party For Miss Elizabeth Barnes At Home

About fifteen young ladies gathered at Miss Elizabeth Barnes home to surprise her on her return from dinner. Guests included Miss Tyrrell of Oxford Junction and Miss Lila Woode of Missouri. The evening was enjoyable with refreshments and a merry mood.

New Time Cards and Train Schedules for Burlington

A new time card went into effect yesterday on the Burlington line. No. 13 returns to service to handle crowds since the two cent fare began. No. 183 resumes its old time and arrives at 3 42 p m. No. 1 fast Denver train leaves Chicago at one and reaches Burlington at 7 30 p m, with two hours cut off between Chicago and Denver and several Ulmots and Iowa towns removed from its route. Fairfield becomes the first stop after departure. The other trains revert to their old schedules.

Rock Island Adjusts Train Schedules Amid Omission of No 20 and 30

The Rock Island Railway revised its time card affecting several trains yesterday but left No 20 and 30 off the road, disappointing many travelers though others show high demand. No 1 now arrives at 10 40 a m, No 3 at 4 42 a m, and No 11 12 meet at 1 32 a m with minor shifts elsewhere.
