The annual graduating exercises at the Presbyterian church closed a week of commencement events. Senior speakers addressed child labor and immigration amid musical selections by the Ladies quartet and soloists, with diplomas awarded to Harold Brown William Wilbur Wirtz Nellie Griffith Linda Huston Hale Greenleaf and clergy conferments to Rev Edwin Sharp and Rev George Dickey before prayer.

Mount Leases Kanawha Record to Lead New Era
George Mount, former Daily Journal composer, has leased and taken charge of the Kanawha Record, effective after the current issue. Editor B Ellsworth notes Mount’s long printer editor experience and two years as Katawha public schools principal, and that Mount and his wife plan to remain. The Record’s prosperity continues with a larger subscription list and full printing capacity.

Mrs LD G Higley entertained fifty ladies yesterday afternoon at her Burlington home for a one o clock luncheon. Guests included Mrs Bert Chubbneck of Chamberlain South Dakota Mrs C Clarke of Burlington Mrs Walter Slagle of Attman and Mrs Sherry Junkin of Creston. The rooms were decorated with white flags roses and green vines and a delicious menu was served followed by musical numbers and social amusements.

Convention in June Promises Strong Sunday School Program
