The Bragnet Strictly Cash Grocery run by C. W. Bosworth invites old trade and others to visit its new Thoma block location near the Square. They occupy two rooms and promise larger quantities and lower cash prices by paying cash, saving discounts, and avoiding debts.
Numerous residents and visitors are listed in this Local Notes column. Entries include E W Sass of Davenport on business, Dr. Os Bishop of Glasgow visiting, Miss Anne Bartlett of Ottumwa in town, Samuel Barnes visiting Packwood relatives, and many others passing through or staying in Fairfield. Fairfield Iowa July 24 Mr and Mrs F B Huntzinger marked their sixty second wedding anniversary on July 12 at home in Fairfield They are aged 84 and 81 and are noted as the oldest couple married the longest in this part of the state Mrs Huntzinger born Sara Rudy The Chicago Chronicle published a commemorative poem by Miss Bessie Parker The piece includes a photo and details of their life together plus local army company notes about Camp Crocker and Company M Fifty fourth infantry Fairfield Iowa.
