The director Mr W A Milne drew a charming production from local youth and will present it again tonight. Mrs Hl A Moller aided with care and efficiency.
The Pixies playwright Milne wed Miss Cora Lutes of Chicago at the Leggett House parlor with Rev. Pearse Pinch officiating. A private ceremony followed by a wedding dinner as the couple planned to wed in Chicago but rescheduled due to theater dates, then left for Kansas City and a coast trip. Local congratulations poured in from Milne's friends.
Miss Helen Conner marked her seventh birthday with a Saturday party for about thirty five children. Guests arrived before two o clock, played various games, and enjoyed refreshments. Miss Thelen received several gifts, and a fish pond prize activity provided each child a trinket to take home as a keepsake.
A quiet Sunday wedding united Miss Edna Helen Smith and Mr Edward Bryan at 604 West Adamis Street with Rev W Luther Bright officiating. The Smith family, long esteemed in Pairfield, sends warm wishes for a happy and prosperous marriage.
The Big Pour Coal Company of Lockridge Iowa held its annual meeting on January 1 electing J. Conlee as president T. A. Conlee as vice president M. C Carpenter as treasurer and W. A. Smith as secretary Directors include M. C. Carpenter A. J. Conlee T. A. Conlee W. C. Smith and George Leinartz of Chicago The company has completed a new mine since March 1 at a cost of 11000 with a capacity of several hundred tons daily and aims to run at full capacity this year Payroll for December shows two men employed and prospects are favorable.
The United States Civil Service commission announces a February 10, 1906 examination at the city post office for clerk and carrier positions. Male applicants must meet height and weight standards. re- exam available for those who failed a prior test. Applications accepted until February 8, 1906 with S L Machesney handling blanks and info.
Mrs Lou Gaines entertained a group of ladies at her East Burlington home Saturday in a euchre party honoring Mrs Dr G C Bradley of Centerville. Ed Wilson was named best player and refreshments followed as guests lingered to end a pleasant evening.
