Kitterman Wins Night in Iowa Wrestling Match

In a Burlington arena crowd near 400 watched Kitterman of Hedrick win the single fall against Roumas in 38 minutes 45 seconds after Roumas forfeited due to a bad elbow. Ketchel earlier fought Ketchel and Morgan in a brisk prelim.

Life sentence for Hoskinson

Tom Hoskinson, confessed murderer of policeman Theo Gerischer, was today sentenced to life imprisonment in Muscatine Iowa. Judge Horan presided as a large crowd gathered at the county courthouse. attorney A W Jaques defended Hoskinson and pleaded about his troubled youth. Hoskinson showed no emotion as the sentence was read.

Burglary Spree Hits Fairfield Homes on Christmas Eve

A mysterious burglar visited several Fairfield residences early Christmas Eve. Mrs. Nelson Smith lost about three dollars a gold band ring and a scarf. Mr. Warwick’s hats handkerchiefs and fruit were taken. E L Stephenson’s coat and overcoat vanished and a woolen blanket left behind. Rev. W W Montgomery’s coat and Mr Warwick’s hat were swapped for Montgomery’s. Otto Woelhat’s home was entered previously and again none gained entrance Sunday night. Other homes listed were visited with no entry.

Richeson Jury Draw Under Way for January Trial

Boston December 27 The district attorney's office prepares for the January 15 trial of Rev Clarence V Richeson. A venue is issued with 275 jurors from Boston and 25 from Chelsea Winthrop and Revere. Twelve will be chosen to try the defendant. Each side has 22 peremptory challenges.

Wichita telegram reports Mr and Mrs Geore Bailey longtime residents born on the same day seventy six years ago died within four hours of each other. Their coffins were lowered into one grave.

Bethesda visit by Santa at School No. 5 Christmas program

Mr Lessy hosted his brother and Stockport sister Sunday. Roy Clark injured his foot but recovering. Miss Nellie Ogden's School No. 5 held a Christmas program with Santa and wife visiting after noon. Santa announced a brief stop before a long Christmas eve journey. The students enjoyed the festive program.

Officers School of the Fifty fourth Iowa Regiment

The officers' school of the Fifty fourth Iowa Regiment will be conducted in Burlington on January 3 and 4 led by Captain Robert McCleave. Death Notice for Mrs. Ezra Winsell in Goodland Kansas

Word has arrived of the death of Mrs. Ezra Winsell at her Goodland Kansas home on December 22. She formerly lived near Fairfield and was daughter of the late Jacob Funk. Her death follows the earlier loss of her son Charles in September. Funeral services were held in Goodland on Sunday. sincere sympathy is offered to the family.

Edna E Nelson wed William Quick at her parents home northeast of Salina last Wednesday evening December 20. The ceremony was by Rev. They will establish housekeeping on a farm north of Beck.
