Christmas Programs In The Fairfield Churches
The First Lutheran church Sunday school plans a Christmas program on Christmas night with elaborate preparations and colored lights. The Presbyterian program features the cantata Miss Christmas Day on Friday at 7 50 o clock with Miss Cora Ball as Miss Christmas Day and Miss Helen Demming as Dawn. The cantata, directed by Hugh R Newson, includes organ preludes, scripture, cantata scenes, and offerings for foreign missions.

Christmas exercises at First Methodist Sunday school
The First Methodist Sunday school invites all to two Christmas events at the church. On Saturday at 2 30 pm the primary class, led by Mrs Marshall Chilcott, will host a Christmas tree, treats, and program. Sunday at 7 pm a musical program by the Sunday school choir and several recitations will follow, with no admission. Donations for the needy may be left in the church basement Friday at 2 pm or given to Dr. Thomas Osborn or A K Harper for delivery.

Death of D L Glass at 51 in Chicago hospital
D L Glass of Pairfield died in Chicago Augustana hospital after cancer surgery. He was 51, survived by wife and six children, six brothers, and previously ran a grocery business in Monmouth and later owned a coal yard in Des Moines area. The note also covers St Patrick's Day status per Rev H J Hogan, clarifying it is a holy day only for Ireland.

Richland Poultry Show Yields Multiple Wins for Power & Son
S A Power and Son exhibited five Buff Wyandottes and five Partridge Wyandottes at the Richland show last week. Buffs won second cockerel, first and second pullet, first pen, and silver cup for best buff pen. Partridges took first cockerel, first, third and fifth pen, pen of parti-colored birds, all varieties, and sweep stakes cup for best ten birds. Also noted is the birth of J Robert Jr to Mr and Mrs J R Boatman of Belize Honduras born November 23.

Yeoman Big Time at Fairfield Fraternal Event
Large Yeomen gathering at Fairfield Iowa drew 400 from rail lines and large delegations from Des Moines Ottumwa and Eldon. About 150 candidates were adopted at the Armory before 800 attendees as speakers praised fraternalism and a Castle Degree drill captivated the crowd with souvenirs distributed after the initiations.

Jacob Boos died after a fall near Harry Davis grocery in Fairfield New Chicago. He fractured his skull and neck. coroner Gaumer found no inquest. Survived by mother Mrs M J Boos and four brothers and four sisters. Born May 17 1874 in Lockridge township lifelong Jefferson county resident.
