Death of Mrs Lucy Schreckengost noted in Keosauqua paper
Lucy B Schreckengost of Valley Junction formerly Keosauqua widow of Anthony Schreckengost died August 3 at Valley Junction and was buried there. Born in Keosauqua she was daughter of Chas and Mrs Brewington. She moved from a farm near Lebanon to Valley Junction and left nine children, six living. She weighed 280 to 300 pounds and died of dropsy. She was 39 years 11 months 4 days. A former grandmother at about 32. Nineteen distant mourners attended the burial.
