Grand Junction Colorado July 1 The jury for the trial of Steve Adams is near completion after forenoon selections. Prosecutors and defense prepare for rapid preliminaries, as Adams lacks funds for defense and may face few witnesses unless the state covers defense expenses.
The N A T and T Co steamer Hamilton departs Dawson this evening bound for Fairbanks carrying many passengers and about 60 tons of freight. On its previous voyage the Hamilton took 10 days and hours for the Dawson to Fairbanks round trip.

New York July 1 An indictment by the grand jury charges Mae Wood with perjury. She will be arraigned for a preliminary hearing within the next few days. The charges arise from her role as a chief witness in the sensational Platt case.
