Dutch Ox-Yoke Shown At Belknap County Fair
A Nova Scotia ox yoke exhibited at the Belknap County Fair draws interest for its European design. The device uses iron grips and leather straps to secure horns and a forehead trap, eliminating coxwell sticks and front walking. Observers note possible cruelty from head confinement after long use, questioning its practicality for New England farmers unless they adapt to polled cattle.
