New York March 10 Dr Douglas said last night General Grant did not sleep well Sunday night but had several deep sleeps yesterday. He felt no pain from the threatened ulceration and repeated it again last evening. An anodyne was given but ineffective. stimulant given instead. Pulse nominal. General took food and slept. Family says he sleeps a portion of the night and thinks he will improve.
