Affected Cattle and Spread of Foot and Mouth Disease in Rangas

A special Republican reporter reports in Exorta Kansas on foot and mouth disease in Neosha Falls area. In one herd of about 120 head sixty are affected and some animals have lost feet. In another herd of ninety six head thirty five are affected and the disease began three weeks ago. Observed symptoms include jerking legs arching backs and tails flattened by freezing. Dr Hielbrook recommends a rigid quarantine and possibly burning the cattle in afflicted herds.
