Veteran's Reunion and Women’s Relief Corps Activities

Portla nd Me June 26 Several thousand veterans in the eastern promenade encampment marched to steamship wharves for harbor sail and trains to Old Orchard others traveled to the White Mountains. Committees reported on rules decoration and pensions with majority adoption. Commanders elected Burdette of Potomac and others. adjourned sine die. A grand reception extended the Californian legation. Women’s Relief Corps officers and officers elected including Mrs Barker Mrs Wittemyer and Miss Girard with Mrs Kate Sherwood reelected president. Harbor excursion invited participation.
