Train runs Chicago to Washington in under twenty hours

A special Baltimore and Ohio train carried Washington correspondents from Chicago to Washington in about nineteen hours and thirty minutes, averaging over fifty miles per hour with several rapid segments. The crew praised Major Pangborn and Conductor Duvall for the luxurious car and flawless run.

Catholic Knights Union adopts national scope and cadet plan

The Catholic Knights Union of Ohio held its annual meeting in Dayton electing officers and adopting a national charter. It also approved a cadet program for Catholic youths ages fourteen to eighteen and swapped in Upton drills. A grand parade and prize at the fair grounds closed the day.
