Nine Children Orphaned After Lehigh Valley Explosion

By Telegraph. Friday's locomotive boiler explosion on the Lehigh Valley Road kills four, including engineer and fireman who are father and son, and the brakeman's son-in-law. The engineer's wife dies of prostration, leaving five from one family dead and nine children orphaned. Mrs Joseph Hasxell of East Mauch Chunk identified among the dead. Separately in New York, bricklayers strike continues with disputed unemployment figures as three builders hire men while others see more laid off.

Stock Thieves Captured in Willowa Valley Oregon

A regulator party in Willowa Valley Oregon captured an organized band of stock thieves. Seventeen thieves were taken, with many horses seized. Notified Vice Presidential Nomination at Saratoga
