Down East contest ends in fatal dog attack in Boston
A Boston street clash between a man and a Siberian bloodhound owned by George E. Goulding led to the animal choking to death after a struggle on Pleasant and Russell streets. W. J. Jackson of Medford fought the dog off with a collar hold and knuckles to the windpipe, saving himself but the dog died. Jackson was wounded, taken to Dr. Ryder's, and later expected to recover. Goulding expressed regret and defended precautions. Unrelated items note a fatal elevator accident at C. S. Ruskin & Co. and a Chicago cycling club distance report.
