A Durand man Henry Calénhausen killed his wife last Sunday while the family was at church. He hid the body under a floor in the cellar and confessed, then hanged himself in jail Saturday night. A gruesome case with local shock and tragedy unfolds in Wisconsin.
An overnight blast at Garry Bros dry goods store at Grand and Allen streets shattered a large show window and damaged nearby buildings. Four Garry Bros windows and many others were destroyed. Police arrested four suspects, with investigation led by Inspector Murray and Captain Allaire.
