Farmers Congress in Louisville forms on agrarian goals

The Farmers Congress adopted a constitution to advance agricultural interests. It envisions representation from state bureaus and agricultural colleges with officers to be appointed by governors. Committees on agriculture education and transport were created and a plan to seek national measures for farmers was approved. Colonel Robert Beverly of Virginia was elected president for the next year, with Lt. Nall of Kentucky secretary and J B Guthrie of Kentucky treasurer.

Buried Alive At a Fertilizer Plant Explosion

Cascade December reports a fertilizer tank explosion at Glick Brothers establishment injuring several workers. Fourteen men and two boys were inside the building, with several badly hurt. Damage estimated between four thousand and five thousand dollars.
