New York April 3 General Grant rested fairly well tonight with occasional restlessness from mucus in the throat. Nurses and physicians report he is composed and cheerful, able to take nourishment, with pulse around 64 66 and temperature near 98.6. Doctors plan continued treatment and issued no further bulletins unless there is a change.
Tom Jones, Tom Brown, and Jim Grimwald, long active in the Cherokee Strip, were captured Monday night after stealing three horses from Cummings ranch at Cummings rancho. A pursuing party reached Pond Creek at dawn and forced surrender near Salt Fork River ford, where cowboys with revolvers aided the arrest. The trio were bound and taken to the Summer County Sheriff, breaking a long-standing horse theft ring in Southern Kansas.
John L Sullivan and Paddy Ryan signed articles in Jersey City for a June 16 bout at a Butte City venue in Montana with a purse of 2500 dollars and a diamond belt. A side bet of 2590 pounds was proposed, potentially making 7500 dollars depend on the result.

April 8 Thorn Creek Pennsylvania reports total daily output of 8450 barrels from wells. Principal rates list Fisher 14 at 52, Ackerly 41, Girard 26, Producers 13 24 barrels. Producers 15 drilled yesterday afternoon and initially dry. At 4 o'clock reports say 44000 barrels daily flow. Trade revived by rising prices and adverts in Fanwax.
