Brookings Boy Injured in Shotgun Accident During Examination

Brookings Man Hurt When Hit By Cycle
A Brookings man was struck by a motorcycle driven by Charles Hoftier of Estelline with Harold McManners as passenger. The bike swerved to avoid a road obstruction and hit a concrete bridge. McManners suffered a badly fractured skull and was unconscious for several hours. he was taken to a local hospital. Physicians expect recovery.

Mellette Aviator Receives American-Eagle Passenger Plane
Carl Leonard of Mellette has taken delivery of a new American-Eagle two passenger biplane with a five cylinder radial motor. The hangar at the Mellette airfield north of town will host flights for passengers. The craft runs close to the old plane in speed but offers 115 mph maximum, cruising about 105 mph, with an altitude rating of 14 000 feet. Leonard has 245 flight hours and expects to obtain his transport license soon.
