The Heron Carnegie Library’s children department wrapped up a summer reading program for grades one through eight with a party in Campbell Park from 3 to 5 PM. Participants completing ten books were awarded prizes, with Doric Anderson reading twenty books. Misses Edith Retinaon and Margaret Phernon led arrangements, while Miss Caroline Orvis told stories and a light refreshment table featured a tine and gold theme.

Bids On New Road Work Opened Today
Pierre, Sept 22 The South Dakota highway commission opened bids for multiple road projects in several counties. Five bridges will be built on U S 14 between Brookings and Valley, with grading planned. A bridge on U S 5 over Indian Creek north of Belle Fourche and gravel roads in Hamlin, Union, and Stockbridge counties. Guard rails to be installed in Brown, Davison, Campbell, and Fosston counties.
