Mile Long Fair Midway To Open With Dee Lang Shows
The 1942 South Dakota State Fair will feature Dee Lang Shows returning after last year's debut. A fleet of trucks brings 14 rides 14 shows and more than 35 booths to Huron for Labor Day week September 7 to 12. The midway promises a new layout with five diesel power units and popular attractions such as Monkeyland and Hell's Angels along with the Penny Arcade and a Dude Ranch.

Dive Bomber Act At State Fair Stuns Huron Crowd
The Jimmie Lynch Death Dodgers will perform the death defying dive bomber act at the 1942 State Fair in Huron. They will appear on September 12 with a noon show and again for a Saturday performance. A stock car speeds along a ramp reaching 12 feet in height before plunging through space to crash into a parked car after narrowly missing a truck or bus.

Precautions Taken To Assure Fire And Police Safety At State Fair
State Fair safety measures include 24 hour fire protection by Huron Fire Department with a truck and five men on duty all week. A new alarm system links grounds telephones to the fire headquarters for rapid response. W J Goetz of the Motor Patrol will direct police supervision and traffic control with a safety booth on site to answer questions and handle lost and found items.
