Aged Civil War Veteran James Colburn Dies Nearby Bryant
James Colburn age 91, oldest Civil War veteran in Hamlin County, died Tuesday morning at his son James Colburn’s farm south of Bryant after a brief illness. He served in the 17th Wisconsin Infantry and was wounded in battle. Survived by son James, and daughters Mrs Art Landon of Eyder North Dakota and Mrs Ernest Reynolds of Lake Geneva Wisconsin. Funeral arrangements pending arrival of his daughters.

Mrs Fred Neuharth of Alpena died at home three miles north of Alpena Sunday morning after several weeks illness. Funeral held Tuesday at 2:30 PM at the Methodist church with Rev K Kruger presiding and Rev A J Hoyer assisting. Music by local quartet. Pallbearers listed. Burial in Rest Haven cemetery. She was past 75, survived by husband Fred Neuharth three sons four daughters 29 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
